Greetings from the Sweedish School

Believe it or not, we are half way through 2009 already. Midsummer has come and past.

This year the Swedish School held the traditional celebration in the Embassy garden. The dances around the midsummer pole, the games, the lollies, glögg, pepparkakor and kanelbullar (in unlimited amounts!) all in the traditional “midsummer in midwinter Australia” style. Yet again a great success – thanks Sofie and gang! The next adventure in the Swedish school calendar is the School Camp at Berry the last weekend of October. A report will follow in snippets!

Linnea, our teacher for the youngest group, will leave us and go back to Sweden. We thank her for her skilled efforts with the kids. From Term 3 (Wed 22/7) a new teacher, Ellinor, will take over this class. We would like to welcome Ellinor as well as some new students to “Grodynglen”. The school accepts students who are Swedish citizens (or with a parent who is a Swedish citizen) and speak Swedish at home.
