Workshop 4 (2009): Exploring the use of the first and second language in the ethnic school context (part 2)

The teaches training workshop 4/2009 was running on Wednesday 24 June 2009. The numbers of teachers including a few new teachers were attending in this workshop.

The topic for this workshop was: “Exploring the use of the first and second language in the ethnic school context (part 2)“.

In this interactive workshop we were continued and deepen our discussion about the benefits and disadvantages of using the target language and/or English in our lessons. Most teachers like their students to use the target language as often as possible.

This session was suitable for the teachers as well as for new participants. All participants were invited to bring records (recordings, notes) of their lessons to this workshop. We discussed when and how we and our students use the two (or more) languages in the classroom and develop ways of increasing the use of the target language. This was an opportunity to share our experience and ideas and receive feedback in a friendly and supportive environment.
